ICE Murders Renee Good

A US citizen was murdered by ICE yesterday. Just let that sink in for a moment.
Renee Good, a 37-year old mother, was shot and killed in cold blood yesterday by a masked man with a "POLICE, Federal Agent" tab on his body armor. He was part of an ICE operation.
I have watched (and watched and watched) the horrific video of this murder and reviewed forensic analysis of that video as well as the doctored clip being used to support the claim that the shooting was an act of "self-defense" by a law enforcement officer fearful that his life was in imminent danger. I have seen the Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, trying to justify the incident with a demonstrably false narrative—a series of blatant lies—and Donald Trump echoing that narrative.
Two primary conclusions are unavoidable from this particular incident:
The Federal Agent should immediately be fired, arrested and charged with second-degree murder under Minnesota law, and put in jail awaiting trial.
Trump and his Administration are (again) engaged in a deliberate, calculated effort to misrepresent—to lie about—observable facts. This is state propaganda.
An overarching judgment is also inescapable: no one can now say, "Oh, that kind of thing couldn't possibly happen here!"
Many of us have thought, and said, and warned that this would be the logical, inevitable result of authoritarian rule being established in this country--our country. When we did, we were chided for being alarmist, for over-reacting, for misinterpreting statements and mischaracterizing actions.
We--we!--are the ones labeled as being too partisan, as unpatriotic, as disloyal, as disruptive and obstructive, as "enemies of the state," because we dare to voice any disagreement or opposition to what was being said or done.
And now, according to Kristi Noem, someone like Renee Good is a "domestic terrorist."
Well, if Renee Good is a domestic terrorist, I guess that makes me one, too. Along with the 3,200 people here in Sequim and the 7 million across the nation we joined on October 18 to protest the assaults on our rights, our Constitution, the rule of law, our lives.
Authoritarian rule, fascism in America? Nah, can't happen—isn’t happening,
It can.
It is.
Renee Good is not the first victim, and she will surely not be the last. The real domestic terrorists are the masked thugs roaming our streets, hunting down, kidnapping, deporting, and killing immigrants whose only "crime" is the misdemeanor of entering this country illegally. The real domestic terrorists are the violent criminals wearing "ICE" or "Federal Agent" tabs who demand immediate and total compliance and are willing to kill you if you don't comply—regardless of your citizenship status or your skin color.
