Goals and Objectives

Our ultimate goal is to have a real democracy -- a government and governance that is inclusive, responsive, open, and respectful; where the rule of law, not the whim of any individual, is paramount; where individual liberties and rights are protected; where caring, compassion, and common decency guide the deliberations and decisions of all elected and other government officials as well as those they serve.

Our most urgent immediate goal is to resist and prevent the imposition of an oppressive, corrupt, authoritarian regime bent on creating chaos, dismantling our government, and enriching a select group of wealthy enablers at the expense of everyone else.

Our primary objective is to support and elect people, from local- to national-level office, who are committed to our goals. To achieve this, we aim to encourage wide-spread, continuing civic engagement at the local level through multiple programs and projects. In further support of our goals, we will organize and conduct peaceful public protest demonstrations on as frequent and large a scale as possible, along with other means of opposing Trump and his minions. To achieve this, we are focused on increasing recruitment of dedicated volunteers, expanding our membership, and desperately needed fundraising.

How Indivisible Sequim Operates

Overview

Indivisible Sequim (IS) is a grass-roots political movement of volunteers from the Sequim-Dungeness area. Since it began in 2017, it has operated within a general, flexible organizational structure. With the start of the second Trump administration, our membership has grown, how we operate has evolved (and will continue to evolve as needed), and our connection with Indivisible national (Indivisible.org) has been strengthened.

IS now operates through six committees or groups:

• Communications

• Community Partnering

• General Planning

• Research & Education (2026 Election Taskforce)

• Wellness and Resilience

A Coordinating Committee, consisting of designated individuals from each of the standing committees or groups, oversees and synchronizes IS operations.

The Details

Each of the listed committees or groups consists of active IS members who have volunteered their time, skills, and expertise. Each committee has one or two people who serve as leads to oversee and guide the work.
