About the event
Protest songs have always been a rallying cry. A way to find each other in the noise. A way to remember who we are when the pressure is on. From labor movements to civil rights to anti war resistance, music has shaped the spirit of collective action and helped people hold the line.
Woody Guthrie famously carried a guitar labeled “This Machine Kills Fascists.” That spirit lives on. This workshop honors Guthrie and all the musicians who have given voice to resistance, courage, grief, and hope across generations. Music has never just been entertainment. It has always been a tool.
In this workshop, we will update and rework songs that express what many of us are feeling right now. Frustration. Resolve. Determination. Hope. This will be playful, cathartic, and powerful. No perfection required. No auditions. Just willingness and heart.
After the workshop, we will hold a pre No Kings Day…
